Our vision to transform and revitalize downtown Laurens has been a labor of love and commitment from everyone in our community. Over the last several years we have worked to transform Main Street into a vibrant area full of shops, eateries and unique experiences.
Whether you are visiting us for the first time or a long-time resident, we invite you to explore the opportunities to be a part of our growth and place making. There are several current and upcoming available properties downtown as well a numerous other ways you can be a part of our efforts.
Opportunities to get involved:
Buy a Brick to help us build our community park
Open a business in one of our available spaces
Purchase a building and bring it back to life
Rent our Trolley and tour the community
Revive your business facade by applying for a Lauren's Facade Grant
Buy a Brick
Buy a brick for the Courthouse Square Downtown Development Project and leave your mark for future generations. For a contribution of $75 your name will be etched on a brick paver.
Recently Main Street Laurens has worked with our partners at the City of Laurens and Laurens CPW to install new festoon lighting on Silver & Laurel Streets, developing the food truck plaza and working on other improvements in downtown. The funds from the buy a brick program will go directly towards other projects to improve our historic downtown!
You might consider buying additional bricks, one for each member of your extended family. Take a stroll today and explore the other bricks in place and pick out a spot just for you!
The City of Laurens trolley can be rented for community events, school functions, birthday parties and more. The trolley is available for rent through a partnership with the City of Laurens and Main Street Laurens.
These grants are available to both property owners and business owners. The goal of the grant program is to assist in the cost of improvements to the facades of our buildings in the MSL District. These improvements can include any part of the buildings that are visible from the streets or landscaping.
The funds are matching funds, so you spend $1,000 and get $500 back. The minimum project is $500. Contact us if you have any questions!
